Sofia Vergara Hits Golden Buzzer for Dance Group as ‘AGT’ Auditions Continue
Reading Time: 2 minutes
America’s Got Talent Season 19 returned on Tuesday night for another round of auditions. Last week, it was confirmed that each judge will have two Golden Buzzers this season. However, this episode only featured one — from Sofia Vergara, for an amazing dance group.
Sofia Vergara Hits AGT Golden Buzzer for Dance Group
Legión Malambo is a dance group from Argentina. They shared that they all have day jobs, so they rehearse together late at night between work, in the backyard of one of the members’ parents. Their dream is to have their own studio.
The judges were shocked when the group members had their boots set on fire before they started the routine, which involved fast-paced dance moves, pounding drums, and even flaming swords. Host Terry Crews remarked from backstage that he could “feel the heat.”
At one point, one of the dancers’ flaming shoes flew off his foot and onto the edge of the stage. That didn’t stop the group from finishing the performance with a bang, prompting a standing ovation from the judges.
Sofia Vergara faked out the audience by suggesting that she wasn’t impressed by the performance, earning boos. However, she was actually so wowed that she hit the Golden Buzzer to send the group straight to the live shows.

What Other Acts Impressed the Judges?
There might have only been one Golden Buzzer during Tuesday’s new episode, but that doesn’t mean the judges weren’t impressed by the other acts to audition. That includes Bboy Samuka, a dancer from Brazil whose leg was amputated due to cancer. He performed break dancing without his crutches, wowing the panel.
The judges were also stunned by quick-change artist Solange Kardinaly, who magically changed clothes right before their eyes. Howie Mandel declared that it was the best quick-change act they’ve ever seen on the AGT stage.
Tuesday’s show also featured some impressive musical acts, including singer Dee Dee Simon, who delivered a powerhouse rendition of “And I Am Telling You I’m Not Going.” Meanwhile, a sibling trio from South Africa called Biko’s Manna made everyone feel good with “Don’t Worry, Be Happy,” and brother-sister country duo The Reklaws wowed with an emotional original song.
