Simon Cowell was Repeatedly Asked About His Sexuality and Not Believed For His Answer
Just when you think you know it all, Simon Cowell reveals the one question reporters would constantly ask him in his earlier day and would refuse to believe the answer — his sexuality.
Simon Cowell speaks on Philip Scofield coming out as gay
The BGT judge spoke on the recent news that Philip Scofield came out as gay. Speaking on the news, Cowell mentioned that interviewers would ask him if he was gay.
“It makes me laugh, because 20 years ago I would be doing interviews and the first question would be, ‘Are you gay?’ and I would say, ‘No’. They would say, ‘Yes you are!’ and I’d go, ‘Do you honestly think it would be a problem if I was? And that I would hide it like there is something wrong?’ I told them, ‘If I was, I would tell you’. But it used to crack me up that it was seen as something bad you would have to hide.”
To that point, I think it is a very positive thing. You’ve seen the support he has got because nobody cares.
It seems Simon Cowell is on a mission to bring back his relevancy on UK TV. As of now, ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ is the only format he appears on, whilst also producing ‘The Greatest Dancer’. The TV judge has two new shows in the works as of now.
Simon Cowell is planning TWO new shows over the next 12 months
After canceling production on The X Factor this year, it seems Simon is adamant to get it right. In a recent interview, Simon mentioned that he is working on two new shows. Whilst no official dates have been confirmed, it’s likely they will air in 2021.
Simon will spend this year looking at new ways to shape his shows around the current youth generation.
“We have to come back with a show that is relevant, different, a show that takes into account all the different things kids are watching and being influenced by. As well as the evolution of The X Factor, I’ve got two new talent shows we’re launching in the next 12 months. One in particular I do think is our best one yet.”
Is Simon sticking to his word and creating a new show with the original Idol panel? We think this is very likely!
Britain’s Got Talent is set to begin this April on ITV.
