Simon Cowell Returns to BGT Following Liam Payne’s Death
On January 8, Cowell shared four photos and one video from the set of Britain’s Got Talent season 18. This is Cowell’s first post from set following October’s canceled BGT audition dates.
In case you missed it, Applause Store, the company responsible for BGT audition tickets, published “Due to the tragic passing of Liam Payne, BGT has decided to postpone today’s auditions in Blackpool. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause,” on social media.
Cowell’s 2025 photos featured him with fellow BGT judges Amanda Holden, Alesha Dixon, and Bruno Tonioli. The four photos in the post feature the judges sitting at their desk, them with hosts Ant and Dec, and finally goofing around off set. Finally, the last photo is of the Blackpool audience. Cowell’s video features himself in a goofy yellow car, heading to auditions.
What Can Fans Expect on BGT 2025?
This season, fans have a lot to look forward to. Britain’s Got Talent is set to premiere on iTV on February 18, 2025. This season is set to be the show’s longest, since it will begin earlier and feature episodes on Saturday night, rather than both Saturday and Sunday. Later in the season, the five live semi-finals episodes will now air weekly, as opposed to everyday for a week.
On the judging front, there aren’t many changes. Once again, Amanda Holden, Alesha Dixon, and Simon Cowell will be returning to the judging panel. Bruno Tonioli will also be returning to the panel, but with some breaks. Throughout the season, fans will see fill in judge YouTuber KSI. While Bruno Tonioli was busy filming Dancing With The Stars in America, KSI filled in for the italian choreographer.
