Shin Lim Wows Ellen With The First Trick He Ever Learned
To mark his big win on America’s Got Talent: The Champions, magician Shin Lim appeared on The Ellen DeGeneres Show this week. While he was there, he showed off an impressive trick that left Ellen scratching her head.
Shin started things off by telling Ellen that it was “the very first trick I learned.” But this is no baby trick. In fact, he performed a similar routine with AGT host Tyra Banks in his audition for the show.
As entertaining as it is to watch Shin make card faces disappear and turn stacks of cards into ice blocks, it’s just as fun to watch the faces Ellen makes as he performs. Her expression when Shin rubs her chosen card against his bare chest is especially priceless.
“The first trick he learned,” Ellen said incredulously when it was over.
Shin admitted that it was a big deal for him to win against the show’s best competitors, naming Susan Boyle and Darci Lynne as examples. In the finals, he said he thought to himself, “I don’t know if I have a shot. This is kinda crazy, it’s anyone’s game.”
Shin said he “must have been lucky” to win the whole thing, to which Ellen replied, “It was magic.” Well, she’s not wrong.
