Sean and Conor Price Win ‘The X Factor UK’ Wildcard Poll
The Alisah Army has suffered another defeat. Despite a vocal fan base and a huge Filipino following, Alisah Bonaobra lost the Wildcard Poll, in which the British public chooses one eliminated act to join The X Factor Live Tour next year.
Out of more than 300,000 votes cast, Irish brothers Sean and Conor Price were the clear winners, garnering at least 65% of the votes. Alisah, who is from the Philippines, didn’t even come close; 16-year-old singer/model/dancer/actor Rai-Elle Williams came in second, while 15-year-old Holly Tandy — one of the youngest X Factor contestants ever — came in third.
The Price brothers will join Grace Davies, Kevin Davy White, Matt Linnen, Lloyd Macey, the Cutkelvins, and winners Rak-Su on the tour in February.
The Alisah Army, as her fans call themselves, were outraged when she was eliminated last month, with some even charging the judges and the British voters with racism. Their wrath probably won’t be any milder this time.
Speaking to Talent Recap’s Jack after her elimination a few weeks ago, Alisah said “They [the Alisah Army] can help me be a part of The X Factor Live Tour 2018. I still need the votes to be part of that tour. You guys can be a big part of helping me pursue my dream.” She mentioned having fans not only in the Philippines and the UK, but around the world, including in Brazil and Cambodia. Jack agreed, “I think you have plenty of fans. The Alisah Army is very strong.”
But the tweets and Facebook shares and Talent Recap comments didn’t translate to votes, as Alisah failed to make the top three. The Irish brothers’ huge victory may be a factor of their larger social following: Their “last chance to vote” tweet had 63 retweets, while Alisah’s similar tweet got only 10. The brothers have 31,200 Twitter followers; Alisah has half that.
In her interview with Talent Recap, Alisah talked about her thoughts on the future, which included performing on Broadway (she mentioned Miss Saigon and Les Mis) and even “being a Disney princess.”
She still seems upbeat, with her most recent tweet asking her fans to continue to support her on social media.
The X Factor Live Tour starts February 16 in Belfast, Northern Ireland.
