One Direction Star Liam Payne Shares That He’s 100 Days Sober

Former One Direction star Liam Payne recently revealed that he was 100 days sober. The singer shared that he’s “super happy” and teased that he’s currently working on a new solo album to follow up his 2019 release LP1.
Liam Payne Announces He’s 100 Days Sober
According to Billboard, Payne opened up in a recent interview with the boxing channel iFL TV. He shared, “Things are really, really good. I’m sober now over 100 days. I feel amazing.” He added how much his fans’ support has helped him, saying he’s “super happy.”
In 2021, Payne revealed that he had suffered from depression and substance abuse during his time in One Direction. He shared that he turned to alcohol and prescription pills, explaining that he was “very good at hiding it.”
“The problem was, in the band … the best way to secure us, because of how big we’d got, was just to lock us in our rooms,” Payne recalled on the Diary of a CEO podcast. “What’s in the room? A minibar. So at a certain point, I just thought, ‘Well, I’m going to have a party for one,’ and that just seemed to carry on throughout many years of my life.”

Payne Is Working on a New Album
Payne also told iFL TV that he’s been working on a new album and looking forward to going on tour at some point. The singer released his debut solo album, titled LP1, in 2019. Fans will surely be happy to hear that there’s new music on the horizon.
“I’ve been making an album for a change, which is quite fun and it’s been good so I’m excited to bring it out and I definitely want to tour this time,” Payne said of his upcoming music ventures. “It’s just unusual because I wasn’t sure I was going to tour for a long time.”
All five members of One Direction have gone on to release solo music since they decided to go on hiatus. Earlier this year, Harry Styles won Album of the Year at the Grammys for Harry’s House. Payne congratulated Styles on Instagram.
