Mel B Clarifies Her PTSD Treatment Plan on “The Ellen Show”
Rumors have been swirling about America’s Got Talent judge Mel B’s deciding to check into a rehab facility at the end of the season. The singer took to The Ellen Show to set the record straight.
During her interview segment on the episode that aired today, Mel explained a few things about the situation to guest host Lea Michele.
It was originally reported that sex and alcohol addictions were among the reasons Mel was seeking treatment, but she clarified that this was not the case and her issues were rooted in PTSD.
“No, I’m not an alcoholic. No, I’m not a sex addict. You know, I was with the same person for 10 years and it was quite a turmoil, very intense. That’s all I can say about it. I’d like to say a lot more, but let’s keep it PC.”
Mel did confirm that a lot of these issues relate back to her emotionally abusive relationship with ex Stephen Belafonte, who she divorced last year. She also said she is currently in therapy and, as previously reported, will indeed be checking into a British facility after the America’s Got Talent season finale.
