Because of its successful launch, The Masked Singer is returning for a second (and THIRD) season on FOX! The show features celebrities in elaborate costumes, singing new covers each week to win the trophy.
But what can we expect from the new season? Here’s everything we know about The Masked Singer season 2 so far!
Who Are the Host and Judges?
For season 2, the hosts and judges are staying the same! Nick Cannon will return as the host. The judging panel will again include Robin Thicke, Jenny McCarthy, Ken Jeong, and Nicole Scherzinger.
Ken also guarantees something won’t change in the next season:
I know nothing. I’m the dumbest judge on The Masked Singer. The only thing I can predict in season two, I will be even dumber…The guesses will be more erratic, more off the mark! And that’s the Ken Jeong guarantee.
Who Are the Contestants?
There are 16 contestants this season, ranging from an Egg to a Tree to a Fox to a Thingamajig! While we don’t know any of the celebrities under the mask, the costumes are more elaborate than ever. Check out the full list of costumes here and here.
Because of the first season’s success, Jenny McCarthy claimed that celebrities were “going crazy” to join The Masked Singer season 2. That includes A-list celebrities, in her words!
I think you’re going to see people on the show that you’ll be like, ‘Oh my God, I can’t believe they’re doing this show!’ That’s what I think people are going to say about season 2.
So if that’s any indication, it should be even more star-studded than the first season! The secrecy is key as well, which the judges and producers say will remain a top priority. Especially if top tier talent will be involved in The Masked Singer season 2! The security will definitely need to beef up now that fans will be more keen on figuring out who is competing beforehand. And the contestants are doing more than ever to hide their identities too!
When Will Season 2 Air?
The premiere date for season 2 of The Masked Singer is right around the corner! It will premiere on September 25th in a special two-hour television event. The show is scheduled to air Wednesdays at 8/7c.
