Our hearts shattered yesterday when news of Haley Smith, former American Idol contestant’s death hit our periphery.
Haley was tragically killed Saturday morning in Millinocket, Maine. The police say it appears she failed to make a sharp turn along a residential road that becomes a highway in certain sections.
She was pronounced dead at the scene but let’s take a moment to remember her. Let us take a moment to remember the beautiful soul that she was and the life she lived.
Here is a look back on her audition clip where she sang Rufus and Chaka Khan‘s “Tell Me Something Good.” She put a folksy twist on the song that left Randy Jackson, Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler delighted.
She didn’t make it beyond the second Hollywood round, but Haley left an impression on the judges during her audition in 2012 Aspen.

Steven Tyler considered it an honor to hear Haley sing, ’cause he said she was out of his “era” with her look, sound and vibe.
Haley was 26, and her family says they were preparing to celebrate her birthday this upcoming November.
May her family, friends and fans find strength and her soul rest in peace.
Her favorite quote that tugged at our heart strings is, “The weight of lies will bring you down, and follow you to every town. Nothing happens here that doesn’t happen there. So when your run make sure you run, to something and not away from-cause lies don’t need an aeroplane to chase you down.” The Arett Brothers
