He later emulates a scene in the movie where the main character, Barney, lays in a field of grass. Seeing Payne lay in a field of grass is everything you need to get you through your Monday. The One Direction crooner dances in front of a bulletin board full of colorful Post-its and inspires others to get up and dance too.
“Sunshine” is well on its way to becoming Payne’s next big hit. Payne released his debut solo album in 2019 which has since garnered over 5.1 billion streams. He thanked fans for all of the streams in an Instagram video. Since his One Directions days, Payne has sold more than 23 million singles.
In Ron’s Gone Wrong, Barney befriends Ron, a digital device with some hilarious malfunctions. The pair go through all of the trials and tribulations of maintaining a friendship in the digital age. Zach Galifianakis, Olivia Colman, Ed Helms, and Rob Delaney also voice characters in the film.
Payne just celebrated his birthday this week, and the release of “Sunshine” is the icing on top of the cake. He wrote that he couldn’t explain his excitement for the song on Twitter. Fans have been absolutely loving this fun side of him. Ron’s Gone Wrong is slated for release in theaters on Oct. 22.
