Liam Payne Banned from Driving for Speeding
According to BBC News, Payne’s driving ban stems from an incident in February of this year, when he was caught driving a Ford Ranger pick-up truck at 43mph in a 30mph zone in west London. Payne was also fined £293 and ordered to pay a surcharge of £117 and £90 in costs.
The Evening Standard reports that Payne wrote to the Lavender Hill Magistrates’ Court to apologize for the speeding incident. The singer apparently wrote, “I did not realize the speed limit and apologize for speeding.”
“I am self employed and cannot provide the information at this stage,” the letter also reportedly stated, apparently referring to his financial status. “However, I will pay any fine imposed within 14 days.”
Payne reportedly pleaded guilty to the offense. The star has not commented publicly on the situation.

Payne Was Hospitalized in August
In August, Payne was hospitalized with a serious kidney infection and had to cancel his tour of South America, which was set to begin in September. The singer said in his announcement video that it was “not the right time to be out on the road trying to recover from this.”
Payne’s girlfriend Kate Cassidy told fans in September that the singer was out of the hospital, sharing in a TikTok video that he was “doing so much better” and was “in good hands.”
The One Direction star was later spotted with Cassidy in Paris. The couple has been dating since last year. Payne previously dated pop star Cheryl, with whom he shares a 6-year-old son named Bear. The couple split in 2018.
