Kelly Clarkson Files For Divorce After 7 Years Of Marriage To Brandon Blackstock

Oh no! Let’s just say we did not see this one coming at all. After sharing so much of her personal life on social media and television for the past decade, Kelly Clarkson is ending her marriage to Brandon Blackstock. On June 4, The Voice coach turned talk show host submitted the divorce documents to a Los Angeles court. The pair had a gorgeous wedding in 2013 and share two children together River Rose, 5, and Remington Alexander, 4.
Blackstock whose Instagram is pretty much empty with the exception of a few snaps of his children and his animals posted back in 2015 wishing Clarkson a Happy Valentine’s Day.
Kelly Clarkson Shocked The World By Filing For Divorce
This is especially shocking after Blackstock and their children sent Clarkson such a heartfelt birthday tribute during her talk show back in April. What went wrong? While Clarkson did say she was having “a bit of a rough week” the video “turned it around.” Maybe Clarkson was referring to some marital troubles in this tweet but that remains to be seen. In this video, Blackstock says “Happy Birthday baby, I love you more than you’ll ever know.” So even if they were go through some marital trouble, they were definitely keeping it from the world pretty successfully.
Blackstock has two other children, Savannah and Seth, from a previous marriage but they are one big happy blended family. Clarkson has really embraced motherhood to the fullest and has accomplished so much as both a mom and an artist.

The Couple Were Social Distancing Together Before Their Split
Back in March, Clarkson revealed that the entire family was staying at their cabin in Montana to social distance at the height of the coronavirus pandemic. She posted on social media singing covers of some iconic songs and even shared some hilarious stories from her time at the cabin. In one strange turn of events, the brisk temperatures caused the pipes to freeze and she was left using her son’s child potty. Genuinely, in these videos, Clarkson seemed happy to be spending time with her family and it did not seem like there was any trouble in paradise. She gushed about Blackstock during a segment on The Kelly Clarkson Show in April and gave insight scoop on their dreams to own a ranch that they finally got to fulfill.
She mentioned that Blackstock loves to ride horses and disappear for the day and that he is a cowboy through and through. The two have been living out their dreams of owning a ranch together and even own a bunch of cattle. The point is, Clarkson was always raving about her marriage so this is completely out of the blue and not at all expected. In a 2015 interview with Redbook, she said “Brandon is not my other half. He’s a whole and I’m a whole.” Raise your hand if your heart is broken and you are truly shocked because they were one of your favorite couples.

Clarkson has yet to speak out about this divorce publicly but knowing her, she will definitely give fans some answers in the near future.
