Kelly Clarkson Discusses What She Likes About ‘The Voice’ Over ‘American Idol’
We all know by now that the reboot of American Idol is coming in March but ironically the original Idol winner and its most iconic singer will not be there. Instead, Kelly Clarkson will be one of the coaches on rival show The Voice. There has been a lot of speculation as to why Kelly chose The Voice over the show that launched her career. For her, it’s all about the blind auditions.
Kelly said of The Voice when asked about the difference between the two shows,
“I’m going to be real with you. A lot of people reach out to me to be part of singing things because I was in the first one. I love [The Voice] she said. “It literally does come back to those blind auditions. It means something to me. I do not fit the pop-star image. That’s what sets this show apart,” Clarkson enthused. I get judged on [aesthetics] all the time. I love that this show has chosen contestants because they’re talented and they deserve it. This show really does compliment my desire for this industry.”
I get what she’s saying. That is one of the things we really like about the show. The judges ONLY hit the buzzer if they like the contestant’s voice not their look. That is something no other show does. I can see why Kelly likes the show so much.
