Katy Perry Made a Sobriety Pact with Fiancé Orlando Bloom

American Idol judge Katy Perry has revealed that she made a pact with her fiancé Orlando Bloom to stop drinking. The singer shared that she’s been sober for five weeks now and has no plans to ruin her streak.
Katy Perry Makes Sobriety Pact with Orlando Bloom
According to People, Perry attended a curated cocktail event in New York City on Monday with her fellow American Idol judges Luke Bryan and Lionel Richie. However, she shared that she wouldn’t be drinking alcohol.
“I’ve been sober for five weeks today… I’ve been doing a pact with my partner [fiancé Orlando Bloom] and I want to quit,” Perry said, according to the outlet. The singer apparently pretended to cry after sharing this.
Bryan apparently asked if Perry was caving, to which she responded, “No, girl! I can’t cave. I made a promise. Three months.”
Last year, Perry launched a line of non-alcoholic apéritifs called De Soi, which were reportedly available at the event. Her favorite drink recipe is the Idol-themed Golden Ticket, which features the Golden Hour flavor of De Soi.

Perry, Bloom Have Been Engaged for Four Years
Perry and Bloom got engaged on Valentine’s Day in 2019, but they haven’t walked down the aisle yet. In March 2020, they revealed that they were expecting their first child together. Perry gave birth to daughter Daisy Dove in August.
A recent comment for Perry calling herself Bloom’s “new wife” led to speculation that the pair might have secretly gotten married. However, that doesn’t seem to be the case. At this point, it’s anyone’s guess when they’ll tie the knot.
Last September, Perry shared that finding a location for the nuptials was “challenging.” As she told Drew Barrymore, “I love a big celebration. I am all about big, fun, exotic, great celebrations. So, hopefully, soon.”
