Former American Idol judge Katy Perry is currently making headlines after she was spotted having dinner with former Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau. Fans are now wondering if the unlikely pair is dating.
Is Katy Perry Dating Justin Trudeau?
Earlier this week, TMZ published images of Perry and Trudeau enjoying dinner together at a restaurant called Le Violon in Montreal. Perry has recently been in Canada to perform several shows on her Lifetimes tour.
The restaurant’s co-owner and co-executive chef Danny Smiles told the outlet that the pair didn’t display any PDA during their dinner together, and they seemed to just be friends. Trudeau apparently picked up the bill, and the pair stopped by the kitchen to thank staff after their meal.
TMZ later published a video that challenged the “just friends” narrative, as Perry and Trudeau could be seen walking side by side, with Trudeau’s hand apparently on Perry’s waist. After dinner, the pair reportedly grabbed drinks together at Montreal’s Taverne Atlantic.
The outlet also published photos of Trudeau earlier that same day, strolling in Mount Royal Park with a woman in a hat who appears to be Perry. Trudeau apparently dropped Perry off at the Ritz-Carlton with her dog ahead of the pair’s dinner date.

Perry, Trudeau Are Both Single
While the concept of Perry and Trudeau dating might seem far-fetched, they are both currently single. Perry recently announced her split from longtime partner Orlando Bloom, to whom she was engaged for six years. The pair shares a 4-year-old daughter named Daisy.
Meanwhile, Trudeau split from his wife Sophie Grégoire in 2023. The pair tied the knot in 2005 and share three children. Following their separation, Us Weekly reports that Grégoire began dating Ottawa surgeon Marcos Bettolli.
Trudeau served as prime minister of Canada from 2015 until earlier this year. He announced in January that he would not be seeking re-election. In March, he formally resigned, and current prime minister Mark Carney was sworn in to replace him.
