America’s Got Talent has officially returned to NBC after a week off. The eighth round of auditions featured the final Golden Buzzer of the season, given by Howie Mandel.
Howie Mandel Hits Golden Buzzer for V.Unbeatable Adjacent Dance Group, UnReal Crew
During the eighth episode of AGT Season 20 auditions, Indian group UnReal Crew returned to the stage. For those who may have missed it, the group originally auditioned for the show in 2022, they didn’t make it past the deliberation round. The group, that’s been around since 2018 is came back to the stage passionate about their act, as well as their home country.
The men began their dance in a contortion-like formation. They went on to perform a perfected dance routine best described as a mix of The Mayyas and AirFootWorks. There are various moments of the dance where the group uses optical illusions to portray a story, whether it be contortion, or pretending to slice up a person.
“We see dance crews, we see contortions, but to put it all together and to show us something in a way we’ve never seen before and even the fact that you have an interpreter doing absolutely nothing…” Howie Mandel said. “You deserve everything. You deserve to be on the stage. You deserve to be taken all the way.”
Mandel then hit his second Golden Buzzer of the season for UnReal Crew. This was the last golden buzzer of the season. In case you missed it, Simon Cowell hit the Golden Buzzer for Birmingham Youth Fellowship Choir and LightWire, Sofia Vergara hit the Golden Buzzer for Duo Stardust and Jessica Sanchez, Mel B hit the Golden Buzzer for Charity Lockhart and Messoudi Brothers, and Mandel hit the Golden Buzzer for Jourdan Blue and UnReal Crew. Host Terry Crews hit the Golden Buzzer for The Funkateer Dancers and UnReal Crew.
The Night Continued With Various Unique Acts
The most unique acts of the night began with strongman duo Darien Johnson and Scott Mathison who were released early on AGT’s YouTube channel. In case you missed it, the pair threw around 45 lb dumbbells like it was nothing.
Next act was Alaska born guitarist Silas Luke Jones. He played a medley of songs, that got the audience roaring. It was the most unique guitar act, since it featured a different type of strumming.
By far, the most unique of the night was a group of three, Tej, Ibhan, & Lars. The group worked together to make a smoothie on stage, Two members threw fruit at the third member, who had a blender bottle on his head. Eventually, the group successfully put all the ingredients together and blended them up. Finally, the third member came out with a glass on his head, which they poured the smoothie into. To finish out the act, they connected a long straw to the glass, and had Cowell drink the smoothie.
Mandel and Vergara weren’t fond of the act, giving them a red buzzer. The group ultimately earned a red buzzer from Mel B and Cowell too, at the end of the act. Mel B decided to take her X back, saying that “there’s something about you.” Following suit, Mandel took his X back too. The group ultimately earned three yeses.
Singers Dominated The Episode
Most anticipated singer of the night was 13-year-old Evelyn Errante. The singer took the stage signing a beautiful rendition of “Defying Gravity” from Wicked. Evelyn earned three “yeses” and continued on in the competition.
The other singer that stood out from the pack was Chris Turner. The newly American comedian took the stage doing a completely made up on the spot rap. Chris had the judges and host all pick a word, or phrase to use in his rap. He then found a way to use each word or phrase in his rap.
