What did Blake Shelton do that impressed Gwen Stefani’s family? Gwen revealed it when she and the other Voice coaches visited The Kelly Clarkson Show this week, along with host Carson Daly.

Kelly asked who among them they would choose to get dropped into the wilderness with, and Gwen shared a story that proved Blake’s impressive survival skills. Everyone seemed to agree he would be the best choice.

When John Legend pointed out that Blake has “acres of ranch land” and would “know a lot of outdoorsy things,” Gwen agreed. She shared what happened the first time she and her family visited Oklahoma.

“We are from Anaheim. We’d never seen even trees before,” she joked. “And we’re driving, and Blake’s in his truck. And there’s a tree that had been blown down on the road, and Blake gets out … and he gets in the back of the truck. He has, like, a big chain. He pulls it out, he wraps it around the tree.”

Gwen said her family was amazed, declaring, “Oh my God, he’s a man!” So it’s safe to say they would pick Blake in that wilderness scenario as well.

Carson Daly Shares A Funny Blake Story

Carson also chimed in to share a story related to Blake’s outdoorsy nature. He said Blake was “miserable” in Los Angeles before he got together with Gwen. So Carson tried to find “something for the cowboy to do.”

He says he took Blake to a Bass Pro Shop, where he thought he would be “comfortable.” He added, “Walking around with Blake Shelton at a Bass Pro Shop is like walking around with Jesus Christ at the Vatican. His people are there. He was very at home.”

It’s pretty clear Blake is the coach to choose if you’re stuck in the wilderness … or a Bass Pro Shop.
