Radio host and former America’s Got Talent judge Howard Stern has signed a three-year deal with SiriusXM. There were rumors earlier this year that Stern could be leaving the platform after almost 20 years.
Howard Stern Signs New Deal with SiriusXM
“I’m happy to announce that I’ve figured out a way to have it all,” Howard Stern told his radio listeners on Tuesday morning. “More free time, and continuing to be on the radio. So yes, we are coming back for three years.”
Earlier this year, it was rumored that Stern could be leaving Sirius after almost 20 years with the platform due to a conflict over pay, with a source telling The Sun, “Sirius and Stern are never going to meet on the money he is going to want. It’s no longer worth the investment.”
In September, Stern responded to the rumors by pranking his listeners with the help of Andy Cohen, who pretended to take over Stern’s SiriusXM channel. Stern eventually stepped in to tell fans it was a hoax, addressing the “bad rumors” by saying he was “very happy at Sirius.”

New Deal Offers Stern ‘More Flexibility’
According to the Hollywood Reporter, Stern said that his new deal with Sirius will provide him with “more flexibility,” which could mean that he will appear on air less frequently. Specifics of the deal have not been revealed, but Stern’s previous deal was worth an estimated $100 million per year.
“I love this company. I truly do,” Stern said of SiriusXM. “I feel very loyal to this company. They did want me to come back, and they said, ‘Whatever you want to do, we’ll do for you.’ Who says that to anybody? When does your boss say that?”
During Tuesday’s announcement, Stern said that he was “excited” about continuing his show on Sirius for three more years, adding, “I do still love radio.”
