Hollywood Week Starts Monday On ‘American Idol’
Reading Time: 1 minutes
Sunday night will be the last night of auditions on the reboot of American Idol on ABC. Monday begins Hollywood week, when the contestants that were chosen to go to LA will either sing individually or in groups for a chance to move forward in the competition. This is when stuff gets real.
There have been about 1000 people chosen so far. Not really, but it feels that way. I only remember a handful of them and I write about this stuff for a living. But now we start to weed out the people that judges Katy Perry, Luke Bryan, and Lionel Richie gave golden tickets to just because. They’ll polish up the acts, I’m sure, if past seasons are any indication. They won’t be the rough simple folk that walked in off the streets. They’ll be in the hands of stylists, hair and makeup people, and Hollywood in general.
I’m interested to see what the show does with a farm boy like Noah Davis or a guy like Marcio Donaldson.Probably something with sequins. Either way, this is when American Idol shines.
