Get Ready for an Extreme ‘America’s Got Talent’ Spin-off
Reading Time: 2 minutes
Have you ever wanted to watch America’s Got Talent, but only the most extreme acts? You’ll soon get your wish, as NBC has just ordered a spin-off of the show that focuses on exactly that.
The upcoming show, titled AGT: Extreme, is from none other than Simon Cowell, along with Syco Entertainment and Fremantle. The news comes as we prepare to watch Season 16 of the original series this summer.

NBC Orders ‘AGT: Extreme’ Spin-off Series
Cowell will reportedly appear on the show as one of the judges, although the rest of the panel has not yet been announced. The show will premiere midseason during the summer and feature only extreme acts.
This will be the second America’s Got Talent spin-off show to air on NBC. The network previously produced two Champions seasons, in 2019 and 2020. This year’s edition of the all-stars competition was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Season 16 of the regular version of AGT will premiere June 1 on NBC. Cowell will make his big return to the show after last year’s electric bike accident. He’ll be joined by returning judges Howie Mandel, Heidi Klum, and Sofia Vergara.

Is This Format Too Similar to ‘Go-Big Show’ on TBS?
AGT: Extreme isn’t the first show to focus on dangerous and large-scale talents. Earlier this year, TBS aired the first season of Go-Big Show, which highlighted these kinds of acts. Do you think this newly announced format is too similar, or is it the more the merrier when it comes to extreme acts?
We also wonder if this will have any effect on the number of daredevil acts featured on the regular version of AGT. Auditions for the upcoming season have already been filmed, so there likely won’t be much of a change just yet. We’ll have to wait and see if AGT: Extreme continues for another season.
We look forward to being on the edge of our seats for these extreme performances. A danger act has never won the show, so it will be nice to see them get a showcase.
