Former American Idol star Fantasia Barrino is furthering her career in the entertainment industry. The actress/singer is now launching her own entertainment company in partnership with producer Yvonne McNair.

Grammy award winning singer/songwriter Fantasia Barrino is headed into her next endeavor in the entertainment industry. Barrino, partnered with producer and manager Yvonne McNair in this endeavor.
The new company is Rock Soul Productions, headquartered in Charlotte, NC. This company is a full-service operation with divisions center in the areas of management, production, and entertainment.
Barrino is acting as the CEO of the company, while McNair is the president. Rock Soul hopes to be “the intersection where creativity and excellence in entertainment meet.”
The business offers full management services. They begin with career planning and include brand development tailored to each artist. The company is investing in talent to become the ultimate resource in discovering, developing, and elevating new artists careers. They are also to focusing on creating audience-driven experience through live events, film and tv opportunities and digital content. As per Deadline, Rock Soul is clear way for Barrino to extend her star power.
“The formation of Rock Soul feels like a natural progression for me personally. It is the manifestation of my evolution as an artist, a creative and a businesswoman,” said Fantasia. “After 20 years, you can’t help but to take stock and look back at all the things you have done, and I wanted to use those experiences to inform my opportunities going forward. Advocating for myself and other artists to become the change agents in telling their own stories and taking the reins in shaping their own narrative and success is what I’m passionate about. I am also so excited to control and shape the art and entertainment experiences that we will be sharing with the world.”
How Did Barrino and McNair Meet?
While talking about McNair, Barrino explained the manager as “the perfect partner.” Together, they are creating “something powerful, and we aim to touch each and every facet of entertainment.”
Barrino and McNair met more than 12 years ago when they joined Sigma Gamma Rho as line sisters. The pair later synced over their shared experiences in the entertainment industry.
“Fantasia is not only a once-in-a-lifetime kind of talent, but she is also an incredibly savvy businesswoman,” said McNair.
McNair describes Barrino as “top of her craft” bringing a “singularly unique perspective to Rock Soul Productions.” The perspective is what McNair thinks sets the production company apart from others.
