Everything You Need to Know About ‘DWTS’ Relay Dances

Reading Time: 3 minutes
Relay Dances on Dancing With The Stars could be a real game changer as the team in first place will receive the most extra points. This portion of this competition comes back every so often, so let’s look at the official rules of the exciting segment.
What Are the Relay Dances on Dancing With the Stars?
The way Relay Dances are done on DWTS is pretty straightforward, but there are official rules that need to be followed. Relay Dances feature each remaining couple, sorted into three relay groups depending on the dances they’ve already performed.
The grouped couples will compete against one another for the chance to get bonus points. The performers will then have to dance a routine in a style they haven’t performed yet. Basically, dance styles that are performed by the dancers will not be repeated on the Dance Relay.
The judges will rank each couple accordingly based on their routines, with each group having one judge assigned to them. Afterward, the group in first place will gain the most bonus points and the group in third will receive the fewest.
Apart from performing their relay dance, they also need to perform their normal routines for the night. The dancers will get to put their skills to the test, having to perform twice on the same night against other teams during Relay Dances.
