Former Dancing With the Stars celebrity Jojo Siwa was left speechless after becoming nominated for an Emmy Award. The unexpected Emmy Award nomination came from her work as the choreographer for Siwa’s Dance Pop Revolution.
JoJo Siwa Becomes an Emmy Nominated Choreographer
The reality TV star’s long list of achievements just got longer with an “Outstanding Choreography” nomination in the first Children’s and Family Emmys. For those who may not know, Siwa rose to fame as a dancer on Dance Moms.
The nomination came in recognition of her efforts in sharing her skill in dance with the younger dancers of her show Siwa’s Dance Pop Revolution. Siwa expressed her shocked reaction in an Instagram post showing a screenshot of her nomination and highlights from the series.
The competition series sees the Dancing With The Stars alum teamed up with her mom Jessalynn Siwa to mentor young dancers as they competed for a spot in XOMG POP. Siwa expressed gratitude towards her mother and everyone else involved in making the show possible.
“Thank you to everyone involved in this project, especially my mom, who kept me sane this entire time during filming,” Siwa said.
Her show, Siwas Dance Pop Revolution will go against five other shows also nominated in the Children’s and Family Emmys. The new category was made because children’s and family content was the fastest-growing genre. Fans will know if Siwa takes home the Emmy Award on December 11.
Fans Flood Siwa’s Post With Congratulation Messages
A quick look into the comments section of Siwa’s Instagram post will show how much love and support the dancer is getting from her friends and fans. Almost every single comment on the post will show some sort of congratulatory message for Siwa.
“Congrats JoJo!! So proud of you,” a fan wrote in the comments.
Similar messages can be found throughout the post’s comment section, some coming from Siwa’s celebrity friends. Siwa’s DWTS dance partner and professional dancer Jenna Johnson showed how proud she is of Siwa’s recent achievement.
Actress Gabrielle Nevaeh Green also went in to express how proud she is of her Nickelodeon colleague. The official Instagram of her show’s streaming network Peacock praised Siwa and called her, “Our dancing queen.”
