‘DWTS’ Recap: Teresa Giudice Has Left The Building… After SHOCKING Elvis Night Elimination
Reading Time: 3 minutes
Dancing With the Stars returned to Disney+ for their highly anticipated Elvis Presley night. The show paid tribute to the late singer by featuring different dances to songs from the artist’s early days in rock, acting phase, and even time in Las Vegas. After a thrilling night, the second pair got eliminated from the competition.
Daniella Karagach Sits Week 2 Out Due to COVID-19
Possibly the most shocking aspect of this week was the fact that Mirrorball champion Daniella Karagach was not in the ballroom. Ahead of the live show, Karagach tested positive for COVID-19. The newest DWTS troupe member, Alexis Warr, took Karagach’s place to dance with Joseph Baena.
Within the pre-performance footage, Karagach explained that she was trying to teach Joseph how to glide, but it wasn’t going to be easy since he’s so buff. Although he was a little stiff, his performance was impressive nonetheless, considering they didn’t have too much time to rehearse it together.
Contestants Brought Their A-Game for Episode 2
Jordin Sparks came into this week with a positive mentality, she came to impress and definitely succeeded. The judges were quite impressed by Sparks’s improvement over the past week. Her “Hound Dog” quickstep earned her 27 out of 40 points.
Daniel Durant and his partner Britt Stewart definitely gave my favorite performance of the night. The pair nailed each step. Their performance is even more impressive since the deaf celebrity learns each dance by following the beat of the song. Their exciting dance earned 29 out of 40 points.
Newly engaged Gabby Windey appropriately picked to dance a Vietnamese Waltz to “Can’t Help Falling In Love.” Although her partner Val Chmerkovskiy isn’t her fiancé, their chemistry is totally there. They earned 32 out of 40 points.
TikTok sensation Charli D’Amelio returned to the stage with the ultimate 180 performance. Her “Bossa Nova Baby” quickstep was pretty solid given last week’s dance was so different. The judges gave all positive comments to the pair before giving them 32 out of 40 points.
Teresa Giudice Is the Second Celebrity Eliminated from Dancing With The Stars Season 31
The bottom two couples of the night were Cheryl Ladd and Louis Van Amstel, and Teresa Giudice and Pasha Pashkov. After judge deliberations, in a shocking turn, Len Goodman decided to send home Teresa and Pasha. I have to say, I agree with Goodman’s decision to keep Cheryl and Louis. This couple was insanely solid during the premiere, but seemed to have an off night in episode two. I’m confident that they’ll bring their a-game next week.
Dancing With the Stars returns to Disney+ on Monday, October 3 at 8 p.m. Next week, the cast of the series will celebrate 60 years of James Bond, with a night dedicated to the iconic films. Make sure to tune in next week if you love everything James Bond.
