Dancing with the Stars Season 34 returned on Tuesday for Prince Night, as the remaining six couples competed in the Semifinals to determine who would make it to next week’s finale. During the show, each DWTS couple performed two dances — an unlearned style and a repeat of a previous style. The night ended in a shocking elimination.

Four Couples Earn Perfect Scores on DWTS Prince Night

During Tuesday’s new DWTS episode, four couples earned perfect scores for their dances to Prince hits. That includes Robert Irwin and Witney Carson, whose jive to “Baby I’m a Star” was called “insane” by Carrie Ann Inaba. They fell short of a 30 out of 30 for their Viennese waltz to “WOW” later in the night, earning a 29.

Alix Earle and Val Chmerkovskiy also impressed with their Viennese waltz to “Purple Rain,” which earned a perfect score during the second round. Derek Hough said he had “no doubts” Alix would make to the finale. Earlier in the show, Alix and Val earned a 28 out of 30 for their Argentine tango to “Little Red Corvette.”

Two couples also earned their first perfect scores of the season this week. First, Elaine Hendrix received a 30 out of 30 for her paso doble to “When Doves Cry,” which Bruno Tonioli called “regal.” Earlier, their foxtrot to “I Wanna Be Your Lover” earned a 27 out of 30.

Jordan Chiles and Ezra Sosa also earned their first perfect score this week with their Argentine tango to “U Got the Look,” with Tonioli calling Jordan a “leading lady.” Earlier in the episode, their jive to “Raspberry Beret” earned a 27 out of 30.

Semifinals End in a Shocking Elimination

Only two couples failed to earn a perfect score during Tuesday’s DWTS Semifinals episode. That includes Dylan Efron and Daniella Karagach, whose tango to “I Would Die 4 U” and cha-cha to “Kiss” earned 27 and 28 out of 30, respectively. Combined with viewers’ votes, it was still enough to send them through to the finale.

In a shocking twist, the eliminated couple at the end of the night turned out to be Whitney Leavitt and Mark Ballas. They earned two scores of 29 for their cha-cha to “1999” (which Hough called “literal perfection”) and Viennese waltz to “Slow Love” (which Inaba called her favorite performance of Whitney’s).

Although the Secret Lives of Mormon Wives star has consistently received some of the highest scores from week-to-week (even earning immunity from last week’s relay dances), she hasn’t been as popular with fans on social media — which seems to have cost her votes.

Next week’s DWTS Season 34 finale will be three hours long and feature five couples — Alix and Val, Dylan and Daniella, Elaine and Alan, Jordan and Ezra, and Robert and Witney. Tune in live Tuesday night on ABC or Disney+ to see who takes home the Mirrorball trophy.
