America’s Got Talent aired its live Season 16 finale on Wednesday night. The two-hour event featured performances from the Top 10 acts, along with some famous guest performers. At the end of the show, the 2021 AGT winner was announced.

On Tuesday night, the finalists pulled out all the stops to deliver some incredible final performances. There wasn’t a weak showing in the bunch, and the judges had nothing but praise. It all came down to the voters at home, who chose their favorite acts overnight.

Tonight’s episode featured appearances from stars such as Idina Menzel, George Lopez, Pentatonix, Rico Rodriguez, and Bishop Briggs. We also got to see judge Sofia Vergara finally get revenge on Simon Cowell for his mean prank earlier in the season.

Who Is the ‘America’s Got Talent’ Season 16 Winner?

At the end of the night, the winner of America’s Got Talent Season 16 was announced to be … Dustin Tavella! The magician delivered heartfelt performances throughout the competition, sharing stories about his family. America was clearly moved by his talent.

Dustin is the winner of the million-dollar prize, and he’ll also get to perform with some incredible acts from years past at the America’s Got Talent Las Vegas show starting in November of this year. Dustin is the first magician to win the show since Shin Lim in Season 13.

Who Was in the Top 5 During the Finale?

Although we don’t know the order of the entire Top 10, we do know how the Top 5 acts were ranked. Host Terry Crews announced these acts during the show, and he narrowed them down until we learned the winner.

In fifth place was quick-change artist Léa Kyle. In fourth place was singer Brooke Simpson. In third place was comedian Josh Blue. In second place was aerialist Aidan Bryant. Before the winner’s announcement, Crews shared that this was the closest the top two have ever been in AGT history.

Bishop Briggs Wants to Tour with Brooke Simpson

On Tuesday night, finalist Brooke Simpson sang “White Flag” by Bishop Briggs for her last chance at the win. During Wednesday’s results show, Brooke got the chance to perform the song with Briggs herself. The pair wore matching white outfits as they belted out the heart-pumping track.

The two singers seemed to get along swimmingly. After the performance, Briggs called Brooke a “superstar.” She added, “I wish we could be on tour together. We need to do this every single night.” Brooke agreed, saying, “I think that sounds like a plan.”

Sofia Vergara Gets Her Revenge on Simon Cowell

One of the best moments from Wednesday’s finale came when judge Sofia Vergara finally got her revenge on Simon Cowell for pranking her earlier this season. When danger act Ryan Stock and AmberLynn took the stage to perform a risky crossbow act, they made it seem like Vergara shot Cowell while blindfolded.

Vergara vowed to get back at Cowell, and she did it flawlessly. Busts were made of all four judges and host Terry Crews, in honor of the upcoming America’s Got Talent show in Las Vegas. They all looked amazing, except for Cowell’s, which was purposely made to look terrible.

When the busts were revealed, he called his the “worst thing I’ve ever seen” and “embarrassing.” Vergara let him suffer for a few minutes before finally revealing that it was all a prank. “That’s what he gets for messing with a Colombian,” she said.
