Kelly Clarkson on 'The Kelly Clarkson Show'

Fans of The Kelly Clarkson Show will be disappointed to learn that recent rumors were apparently true — the show is coming to an end after this season. Clarkson shared a message on social media confirming that she has chosen to step away from hosting.

The Kelly Clarkson Show Is Ending After This Season

Last month, it was reported that The Kelly Clarkson Show would soon be coming to an end. The talk show premiered in 2019 and is currently in its seventh season, having won 22 Daytime Emmy Awards in its time on the air — including four for Clarkson as host.

Although a rep for the show denied the rumors last week, Clarkson herself took to social media on Monday to confirm that she will no longer host the show after this season. The singer called herself “extremely fortunate to work with such an outstanding group of people.”

Clarkson admitted that it was “not an easy decision” to step away from the show, but emphasized that it “will allow me to prioritize my kids, which feels necessary and right for this next chapter of our lives.” Brandon Blackstock, Clarkson’s ex-husband and the father of her two children, passed away last August after a battle with cancer.

Clarkson assured her fans that she won’t be disappearing, as she wrote, “I’ll still be making music, playing shows here and there, and you may catch me on The Voice from time to time…you never know where I might show up next.”

Later this month, Clarkson will be back on The Voice for Battle of Champions, alongside fellow coaches John Legend and Adam Levine. The new season of the singing competition will premiere on NBC on Monday, February 23.

“I want to thank y’all so much for allowing our show to be a part of your lives,” Clarkson wrote to finish her social media message, “and for believing in us and hanging with us for seven incredible years.”
