Have you ever wondered what happened to 10 year old Ukulele prodigy Feng E? After gracing the stage of both Asia’s Got Talent and America’s Got Talent, he’s become a worldwide icon. Here’s what he’s up to in 2026!
Feng E’s Got Talent Journey
This guitar master first appeared on Asia’s Got Talent Season two at only 10 years old. In his audition, he played an original song on the ukulele. His instrument was hooked up to an amplifier, which made the sound extremely different from the Grace Vanderwaal-like sound Got Talent fans are used to. All of the judges gave Feng E a “yes,” except David Foster, who gave him the Golden Buzzer!
In the semifinals, Feng E returned to the stage playing a ukulele rendition of “Viva La Vida” by Coldplay. He once again earned great feedback from the judges, including Foster saying he would give Feng the Golden Buzzer again!
In the final, Feng performed “Beautiful Day” by U2 using both the acoustic guitar and electric ukulele. After this performance, Foster said Feng would be famous in ten years. Although this musician didn’t win the show, he didn’t give up hope. He returned to the Got Talent stage in 2020 for America’s Got Talent.
For this audition, he performed a rendition of The Weeknd’s “Can’t Feel My Face” on the Ukulele. He made it through the Judge Cut round, without performing again. Then, in the Quarterfinals he performed The White Stripes’ “Seven Nation Army” and Deep Purple’s “Smoke on the Water.” He unfortunately did not earn enough votes to continue on in the competition.
Where is Feng E in 2026?
It should be no surprise that Feng is still a musician today. He is quite big on social media, with a following of 750,000 subscribers on YouTube, 165,000 followers on Instagram, and 60,420 followers on TikTok.
Feng even recently performed in an East Coast Tour, where he travelled from Wisconsin to Tennessee. Then tour began in October 2025 and ended mid-month.
It’s amazing that Feng has created such a name for himself in the music world, since he originally wasn’t interested in playing the ukulele. He took on the instrument because his kindergarten teacher discovered his finger development was slow. Instead of ukulele, his father originally wanted him to play the piano, but Feng lacked interest.
To find inspiration, Feng’s father convinced him to practice by promising to play Legos with him after each lesson. In current day, Feng has mastered five musical instruments, including piano. He is also sponsored by global instrument maker Enya Music.
