A claim that country star and former The Voice contestant Morgan Wallen donated over $500,000 to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has recently spread online. However, this rumor appears to be false.
Did Morgan Wallen Really Donate $500K to ICE?
Earlier this month, several Facebook accounts posted that Morgan Wallen had donated $514,000 in earnings from a recent performance to ICE. The posts shared an alleged quote from Wallen, saying, “America needs secure borders. ICE plays a critical role in keeping our communities safe and deserves full support.”
On Wednesday, the fact-checking site Snopes debunked the viral rumor, saying there is “no evidence that Wallen had announced or made such a donation to ICE.” The article adds that the outlet had contacted Wallen’s representatives about the claim but had not heard back.
As Snopes points out, the articles which are linked in the aforementioned Facebook posts are not from any reputable publications — none of which have reported on the alleged donation. Wallen has also made no mention of a donation on his own social media accounts.
A similar rumor recently made the rounds about Minnesota Timberwolves basketball player Anthony Edwards, claiming he donated the same amount, $514,000, to ICE. That claim was also debunked by Snopes.

Artists Spoke Out Against ICE at the Grammys
ICE activity around the United States has been the subject of backlash in recent months, due in no small part to the fatal shootings of Renee Good and Alex Pretti. At the Grammys on Sunday, several music artists spoke out against the organization.
“Before I say thanks to God, I’m gonna say: ICE out!” Bad Bunny said when accepting his award for Best Música Urbana Album. “We’re not savages, we’re not animals, we’re not aliens, we are humans and we are Americans.”
Later, after winning Album of the Year for Debí Tirar Mas Fotos, the musician dedicated the award to immigrants who “leave their home, land, their country, to follow their dreams.”
Artists Olivia Dean and Billie Eilish also spoke out during their speeches, with Dean sharing that she’s “the granddaughter of an immigrant,” adding, “I’m a product of bravery and I think those people deserve to be celebrated. We’re nothing without each other.” Other artists wore “ICE out” pins on the red carpet ahead of the ceremony.
