RuPaul’s Drag Race superstar Latrice Royale is officially joining the cast of We’re Here as new host. The RuPaul’s Drag Race favorite will be joining Priyanka, Sasha Velour and Jaida Essence in taking charge of season four.
Latrice Royale Announced as New Host of ‘We’re Here’ Season Four
Earlier this year, HBO revealed that Jaida Essence Hall (Drag Race season 12 winner), Sasha Velour (Drag Race season nine winner), and Priyanka (Canada’s Drag Race season one winner) will serve as the new co-hosts of the upcoming season of We’re Here. It turns out that three is not the final number of the series’ season four hosts as Latrice Royale was recently announced as an addition.
“I can shout it from the rooftops!!! I have officially join the @werehere #family!!! Joining my sisters in efforts to spread #Love and #Awareness throughout this Land! So excited and #Blessed,” Royale stated in an Instagram post.
The four will replace former co-hosts Bob the Drag Queen, Shangela, and Eureka. From its original format, fans will witness a shift in the feature of drag as an artform.
Now, over the course of six episodes, season two will tackle two U.S. towns and will take an in-depth look at the local political systems and participants, anti-LGBTQ+ legislation and opposition, and their effect on the queer community.
“In this increasingly hostile political climate, we are grateful to HBO for their dedication to telling LGBTQ+ stories that meet the moment and document our history. We are thrilled to expand our drag family and give much-needed love to the people on the front lines of hate,” the show’s executive producers stated.
Fellow Drag Queens Express Support for Her
Upon seeing Royale’s post, her fellow drag queens immediately hyped her for the new role. Such supportive drag queens commented how perfect Royale is as host of We’re Here season four.
“feels correct,” Willam responded.
“THIS IS PERFECT. SEE YOU NEXT WEEK BB,” Priyanka wrote.
“You’ll be the heart and soul,” Manila Luzon commented.
Asia O’Hara, Pandora Boxxx, Jimbo, Spankie Jackzon, and LaLa Ri also expressed their support for Royale. Indeed, many Drag Race fans are also thrilled of what she would bring to the table for the show.
Royale debuted herself in mainstream reality TV during season four of RuPaul’s Drag Race. She didn’t snatch the crowd that time but was nonetheless crowned as the undisputed Miss Congeniality of the season. In the next years, Royale competed again on Drag Race All Stars 1 and Drag Race All Stars 4.
