All Stars Season 7 winner Jinkx Monsoon pointed out that the winning season featured a cast of all winners for the first time ever. She added, “At this time, it’s so important to hear queer and trans stories from queer and trans people.”
Monsoon went on to call out recent “blatantly bigoted, anti-queer, anti-trans legislations.” Fellow All Stars contestant Jaida Essence Hall chimed in to promote the Drag Defense Fund, which was created by Drag Race production company World of Wonder and MTV “to help support the ACLU’s work to defend and ensure LGBTQ+ rights all across the land.”
Monsoon closed the speech by sharing a message of support for the writers’ strike, saying, “As drag queens and independent artists, we know how important it is to advocate for yourself and your worth, and that’s why we queens stand with the writers in their strike.”

This Year’s Awards Looked a Little Bit Different
This year’s MTV Movie & TV Awards looked a little bit different from previous years due to the ongoing writers’ strike. Drew Barrymore stepped down as host last week, and the live show was originally going to continue without her.
However, the network ultimately decided to cancel the live ceremony. Instead, several pre-taped segments were aired, including acceptance speeches from some of the winners. Barrymore has said she plans to host next year’s show.
Other winners from Sunday night included The Last of Us for Best Show, Scream VI for Best Movie, and Drew Barrymore of The Drew Barrymore Show for Best Host.
