After three liberating seasons of We’re Here, Shangela is departing from the HBO docuseries alongside Bob the Drag Queen, and Eureka. The drag diva has recently bid goodbye to fans and welcomed the new drag trio that will lead the show.

Shangela, Bob the Drag Queen, Eureka Leave We’re Here Ahead of Season Four

The award-winning reality series is losing Shangela, Bob the Drag Queen, Eureka amid the upcoming premiere of its next season. These divas are already replaced by a new set of hosts, all coming from Drag Race.

In an Instagram post from July 13, Shangela wrote a long message for We’re Here fans, to express her appreciation. Reflecting on this, the drag queen stated that their takeoff is a “start of an awesome new chapter.” Subsequently, Shangela wrote that they’re “extremely grateful” for the opportunity to share experiences and uncover stories of other drag kids.

“Our journey has inspired hope and sparked important conversations while empowering unique voices and opening new doors,” she wrote. “And as we’ve now chosen to move forward with our individual projects, we WELCOME our drag sisters @sashavelour, @thequeenpriyanka and @jaidaehall, and wish them the best on continuing this work during an increasingly difficult time for the LGBTQ+ community.”

The revamp of the series comes soon after news of sexual assault allegations against Shangela came to light. Earlier this year, the former DWTS finalist denied the allegations. Calling them baseless, she said that the accusations are “personally offensive,” and “damaging” to her entire community.

New Drag Queens Snag the Hosting Role

While We’re Here is giving up its original hosts, it’s not ending anytime soon. The show has recruited three outstanding drag queens to replace the originals. They are Sasha Velour, Jaida Essence Hall and Priyanka.

“We have been so inspired by the stories and important work that has been done over the last three seasons of We’re Here,” Velour, Hall and Priyanka said in a joint statement. “We look forward to continuing this journey throughout the country to uplift voices, spread love and showcase new stories through the art of drag; we thank the entire We’re Here team for choosing us to join this life-changing experience.”

Over the course of six episodes, season four will focus on two U.S. towns. According to the official description, the new structure will take “in-depth and more immersive look at the local political systems and participants, anti-LGBTQ+ legislation and opposition, and their effect on the LGBTQ+ community.”

Upon this big change, We’re Here fans are definitely excited of the spice the new hosting trio will bring to the table.
