Chrissy Teigen and Jennifer Lopez have joined a massive roster of celebrities that will appear during Global Citizens’ “VAX LIVE: The Concert To Reunite The World.” Selena Gomez will host the event that “aims to inspire vaccine confidence worldwide and help get the COVID-19 vaccines to everyone, everywhere.”

Celebrities Unite For ‘VAX LIVE: The Concert To Reunite The World’

“VAX LIVE: The Concert To Reunite The World” will encourage corporations to donate money so that COVID-19 vaccines can be equally distributed all over the world. Currently, countries like Brazil and India are seeing a surge in COVID-19 cases and need global help.

This pre-taped event at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles will air on Saturday, May 8. Tune in to ABC, ABC News Live, CBS, YouTube, iHeartMedia broadcast radio stations, or the iHeartRadio App at 8 p.m. ET to watch the concert. The concert will air later on FOX at 11 p.m. ET.

The list of musical performers for the event is stacked. Jennifer Lopez, Eddie Vedder, Foo Fighters, J Balvin and H.E.R. are all set to perform. An extended 90-minute version of the concert will be streaming on YouTube. There will be an exclusive performance by the South Korean boy band NCT 127. Popular YouTube creators Daniel El Travieso, Kati Morton, ShootforLove, Thembe Mahlabaand, and The Try Guys will also make appearances during this extended stream.

Several other celebrities will be making an appearance including Ben Affleck, Gayle King, David Letterman, Olivia Munn, Jimmy Kimmel, Sean Penn, and Nozamo Mbatha. Also expect to see an appearance from Campaign Chairs, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, Duke and Duchess of Sussex.

Teigen will join the broadcast to “to speak her mind about why it’s so important that everyone, everywhere has access to the healthcare they need to survive this pandemic.”

Organizers of this Concert are Hoping for Change

“I’m honored to be hosting ‘VAX LIVE: The Concert to Reunite the World’,” Gomez said in a press release. “This is a historic moment to encourage people around the world to take the COVID-19 vaccine when it becomes available to them, call on world leaders to share vaccine doses equitably and to bring people together for a night of music in a way that hasn’t felt possible in the past year. I can’t wait to be a part of it.”

This concert is a large part of Global Citizen’s Recovery Plan For The World. This campaign is aimed to stop the spread of COVID-19, end world hunger and focus on bringing proper education back all over the world. Global Citizen just launched a new site called Vax Because. This site is aimed to provide people with facts and answer all of their burning questions about the COVID-19 vaccine.

One year ago, Global Citizen hosted the “One World: Together at Home” special featuring Lady Gaga. This event raised nearly $128 million for the Solidarity Response Fund and frontline workers amid the pandemic.
