It was recently reported that Dancing with the Stars will have a spin-off show which seeks to cast a new pro dancer for the upcoming 35th season. Casting for this new show appears to be open, and hopeful dancers can sign up online.
How to Sign Up for the DWTS Spin-Off
Earlier this month, it was reported that DWTS was planning a spin-off series called The Next Pro, in which hopeful ballroom dancers will compete to be cast as a pro on the next season of the show. Robert Irwin is reportedly in talks to host the show, with Mark and Shirley Ballas judging.
A casting website is currently available online for a series called Next Pro Dancer. The description reads, in part, “BBC Studios is searching for EXCEPTIONAL DANCERS to compete for a career-making opportunity to become THE NEXT DWTS PROFESSIONAL.”
The show is apparently looking for “standout dancers with world-class technique, star quality, and the ability to light up a stage.” Hopeful dancers must be at least 18 years old to apply. You do not need to be a U.S. citizen to sign up, but you must have a valid passport and be able to travel to and from the United States.
According to the FAQs, video submissions may feature footage from a dance performance within the last year. Dancers are advised to “choose a routine that best represents you as a dancer and performance style.”

The Show Will Return for Season 35
DWTS is expected to return this fall for Season 35 of the show. A premiere date has not yet been announced, but the show typically kicks off sometime in September, with the full cast announced shortly before the premiere.
It is not yet known which pro dancers will be returning to the ballroom for the new season. However, considering the show is apparently seeking a new pro with this spin-off series, it seems likely that at least one of last season’s pros will not be back.
Last year, wildlife conservationist Robert Irwin took home the Season 34 Mirroball trophy with his partner Witney Carson. TikTok star Alix Earle and her partner Val Chmerkovskiy finished the competition in second place.
