‘Britain’s Got Talent’s Auditions End With Another Wacky Night
So, that’s it for this round of auditions on Britain’s Got Talent. The 40 acts have been chosen to move on to the next round and those that couldn’t make the cut, ie. were too terrible or weird to be on TV, were sent home. Tonight the live shows begin at 2:30pm EST. But let’s take a look at what happened on Saturday.
St Lawrence’s Choir
Who wouldn’t love a choir of cute little kids from Northern Ireland singing Pure Imagination from Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory? Not anyone with a heart, surely. They charmed everyone, especially David, and got four yeses.
Spotlight Stage School
Two things that normally don’t go together is magic and dancing. But I guess it makes sense if you think about it since magic is all about distracting the audience to create an illusion. This group of young people have a truly unique act and they got 4 yeses.
When I was a kid I was obsessed with Michael Jackson’s Thriller video with the dancing zombies. That’s why I loved this act. Zombies doing a cool dance routine is the stuff dreams are made of. Yeses all around.
Dudley The Dancing Dog
Dog acts have always been part of BGT but this time, rather than being a real dog, it’s Dudley the Dancing Dog. That’s two dudes in a dog costume dancing an Irish dance. He…er…they got through somehow.
I usually brace myself for unfunniness when a comedian comes on one of the Got Talents but Nick is that rare creature that is actually a good stand-up on a competition show. He got 4 yeses.
Next came the first of two brothers. Shaquille sang a song and played the piano. It was on original number in honor of their dad. The judges were a little concerned about his delivery but gave him 4 yeses anyway.
The other Rayes brother is a dancer and did an incredible routine about a doll that comes to life. It’s just the kind of thing that the BGT judges eat up. He got 4 yeses.
DJ Murray Mint
This dude with the really bad blond wig delighted the audience with his disco dancing antics and he even got the judges in on the action. Yes, including Simon and no it wasn’t pretty. 4 Yeses.
