Are Nick Jonas and Blake Shelton headed for the ballroom? In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Jonas delivered some shocking news about a possible collaboration with Shelton. Only, their collaboration is not going to be the next chart-topping country duet that you would expect.
Are Nick Jonas, Blake Shelton Starting a Dance Troupe?
Typically on The Voice, each coach has a bit of a rivalry with Shelton. He has won the show seven times and is always looking for new ways to get artists on his team. During Jonas’ first season on The Voice, Season 18, he went head to head with Kelly Clarkson, which came as a bit of a shock. Their rivalry allowed Shelton to take a back seat and focus on his eventual winning artist Todd Tilghman.
This year Shelton and Jonas are continuing their bromance because the Jonas Brothers star has a new enemy.
“This year John and I actually went head to head a few times in the Blind Auditions, the Battle Rounds and I beat him two times,” Jonas said.
Jonas’s bromance with Shelton has left many anticipating a country music collaboration in the future. Do not hold your breath.
“He and I have never talked about collaborating on country music, he wants to start a dance troupe,” Jonas said. “But he doesn’t know that I’m not a dancer by any means so that’s probably out of the question.”
A dance troupe is not the first thing that comes to mind when we think of the bond between these two coaches who also happen to be two of the biggest artists in the world.
“I’ve seen him dance, it’s not good,” Jonas added.
Jonas Offers Shelton some Wedding Advice
He did jokingly say that if Shelton ever joined the Jonas Brothers in the future, they would refer to him as their older Uncle Jonas. One thing Jonas can give Shelton is advice on how to prepare for his upcoming wedding to Gwen Stefani. The 28-year-old has been married to actress Priyanka Chopra since 2018 and had multiple wedding ceremonies.
“For us, we just planned it really quick and then it all worked out, it all came together,” Jonas said. “But for Gwen and Blake, I’m sure it’s going to be a fun night. I’m sure there’ll be lots of wonderful beverages involved.”
And of course, fans needed to know if the Jonas Brothers would be performing at Stefani and Shelton’s wedding. Jonas joked that the band is too expensive for Shelton to hire. With a whopping estimated net worth now close to $100 million, we think Shelton could totally afford the Jonas Brothers at the wedding.
