Blake Shelton appeared on his buddy Luke Bryan’s Apple Music radio show Party Barn Radio With Luke Bryan recently. He had some interesting things to say about staying home amid the coronavirus pandemic and the restrictions that his fiance Gwen Stefani has enforced in their home.
Gwen Stefani Won’t Let Blake Shelton See His Friends During COVID
Luke had a bone to pick with Blake because he has not been responding to his text messages. Whenever Luke is in California, he usually texts Blake to see if he wants to hangout. Blake said that he hasn’t hung out with Luke in eight or nine months. “My fiancé is adamant about me staying in areas…Like I can’t go” Blake trailed off. The two country superstars are actually good friends even though they roast each other often.
“She’s very strong about this quarantine thing, which is great,” Blake continued. Luke asked whether or not it has been a positive thing for the couple’s sex life. “She’s the only person I get to see so, that’s it. No buddy hanging out time.”

“When you’re a prideful, stubborn guy like myself for me to text you back and say, ‘Man, Gwen won’t let me go.’ That’s tough. It’s embarrassing” Blake added. “I’m glad you are admitting to me that she makes the decisions and I’m glad to know that she thinks I’m infected with COVID” Luke joked.
“Look man we all see your music videos partying and hanging out with everybody high fiving and licking people, it’s out of control” Blake clapped back. “You’re a super spreader.” Both Blake and Luke have been busy putting out music amid the pandemic but it seems like Gwen is really enforcing social distancing practices in their home. California has particularly seen an influx of COVID cases with over 33,000 deaths since the start of the pandemic.
The couple met on the set of The Voice where they bonded over similar situations with divorce. They have been dating since 2015 and got engaged in October. Check out the What’s Hot Video below where we take a deep dive into their relationship timeline.
How Is Blake And Gwen’s Relationship Amid The Pandemic?
Blake and Gwen previously quarantined at his Oklahoma ranch before heading back to California to film The Voice. They later returned to Oklahoma where they got engaged but will not be having a wedding any time soon because they don’t want to risk anyone’s health. Gwen has been taking several precautions amid the pandemic. Most recently, she had a very lowkey photoshoot for her new glasses collection that followed social distancing guidelines.
Blake found himself in a bit of hot water a few weeks ago after coming out with his latest song called “Minimum Wage.” Many felt like it was tone-deaf during a time where millions of people have lost their jobs and cannot afford basic necessities.

While many have questioned Blake’s actions amid the pandemic, Gwen has been taking things very seriously. When asked about the wedding during an interview with Ryan Seacrest, Gwen made it clear that she has been following social distancing guidelines even limiting the people that attend family gatherings. “I would say I just want my parents there at this point,” she said. “My parents wouldn’t come to Thanksgiving because they’re so scared so really would rather it not be a COVID situation. Like, I would rather not have masks and that kind of thing.”
