Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani (also known by their nickname Shefani) met as coaches on The Voice in 2014. In 2019, they’ve become one of Hollywood’s most beloved couples, with many fans wondering when they’re getting married.

Blake Shelton Meets Gwen Stefani On The Voice

April 2014: Gwen Stefani of No Doubt was announced as a new coach, to replace Christina Aguilera for Season 7. Blake later said that he “never really got to know her, other than small talk,” during this season.

September 2014: Season 7 of The Voice premiered on NBC on September 22, 2014. “Gwen brings this very honest, very humble power to the table,” Blake said in a promo for the season. “It’s crazy, because you’re looking at her and you’re going, ‘Oh my God, that’s Gwen Stefani.'”

Blake And Gwen Both Get Divorced

July 2015: Blake and his wife of four years, Miranda Lambert, announced their divorce. Blake had told the team at The Voice in the spring, when filming for Season 9 (Gwen’s second season as a coach) started. Gwen was going through marital problems of her own, and it brought them closer.

Blake told Billboard that Gwen took him aside to talk to him about it: “She didn’t tell me much, because we didn’t know each other at the time, but she said, ‘I’m going through something very similar to what you’re going through. I understand. And I hate it.”

August 2015: Gwen and her husband Gavin Rossdale, who she married in 2002, announced their own split. Their official statement said, they would “remain partners in parenthood and are committed to jointly raising their three sons in a happy and healthy environment.”

“Gwen saved my life,” Blake told Billboard. “Who else on earth could understand going through a high-profile divorce from another musician? You can’t even imagine the similarities in our divorces.”

October 2015: Blake and Gwen’s flirtatious banter on The Voice had rumors swirling that the pair were a couple. Their duet to “Hotline Bling” on The Tonight Show only added fuel to the fire.

November 2015: The pair made their relationship official, drum-roll! Blake’s rep confirmed that the two were dating, shortly after they were photographed getting cozy at a Halloween party.

“Before I was on The Voice, I never heard of him before. I didn’t! I hadn’t! I’m an OC girl. What would I know, you know?” Gwen told Ellen DeGeneres in the same month. She added that Blake “knows every single ’80s song like he literally is a musical jukebox!”

May 2016: Blake and Gwen performed together at the Billboard Music Awards. They sang “Go Ahead and Break My Heart,” which they recorded for Blake’s album If I’m Honest. “I can’t believe I’m number one on a country chart,” Gwen said of the song’s success.

September 2017: Gwen and Blake released the holiday track “You Make It Feel Like Christmas.” The pair starred in a music video for the song, released last November. “She tries to say that I co-wrote it, but I just sang on it,” Blake said of his role in the project.

October 2018: Breakup rumors are bound to swirl for any high-profile couple, and Blake and Gwen are no different. Gossip Cop debunked a tabloid report that the pair had supposedly split after two months apart.

Did Blake And Gwen Get Married?

May 2019: People have been wondering whether Blake and Gwen are going to get engaged soon. That includes Ellen DeGeneres, who gave Blake a countdown clock. “So you’re saying there’s a chance she’s gonna ask me to marry her,” he said. “I flipped it around, and put it on her.”

June 2019: Blake told Entertainment Tonight that he found rumors about them getting married to be “funny,” adding that it’s good that they’re “newsworthy enough” to be gossiped about.

He added that they were doing well, saying, “Obviously, that’s gotta lead somewhere, but I promise you, we won’t break the news in any of the grocery store trash magazines.”

Gwen Stefani Returns To The Voice Season 17

May 2019: Adam Levine announced that he would be leaving The Voice after 16 seasons, and Gwen was announced as his replacement. This will be Gwen’s fourth season as a Voice coach, after returning for Season 12. She’ll join Blake, John Legend, and Kelly Clarkson.

September 2019: The 17th season of The Voice will premiere on NBC on September 23, 2019. Blake and Gwen seem to have a friendly rivalry going on this season, as shown in promos.

“We’re starting to have pillow talk and we’re discussing [the strategy],” Gwen told E! News. “Every season I’ve been on it, it’s been a different version of being with Blake. So he’s like, ‘It’s still gotta be competition’ and I was like, You got it!”

June 2019: Gwen and Blake will celebrate their four-year anniversary this year. “It’s actually shocking that it has already been that long,” Blake told People. “It’s kind of a blur. It still feels like it’s pretty new to me. I guess it is, relatively. Four years isn’t forever, but man, it seems like it just happened in no time.”

August 2019: Blake and Gwen are going so strong, Entertainment Tonight reports that they recently bought a house together in Los Angeles.
