Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani finally tied the knot this July, and one of the most interesting tidbits to come out of the wedding was the fact that Shelton wrote a song for his new wife.
If you’ve been wanting to hear the song for yourself, this is your lucky day. Shelton will be releasing it as one of the bonus tracks on the upcoming deluxe edition of his latest album, Body Language.
Blake Shelton to Release Wedding Song for Gwen Stefani
The Voice host Carson Daly officiated Shelton and Stefani’s wedding, and he later spilled details about the nuptials. The couple wrote their own vows, and Shelton’s took the form of a song.
“Blake starts by saying, ‘You know Gwen’s always giving me a hard time about not writing enough songs so I wrote a song,’” Daly shared. “Guitar comes in frame, stool, next thing you know he wrote her a song and he sings her a song while he’s crying that he wrote specifically for her.”
Shelton revealed in July that he had recorded the song, called “We Can Reach the Stars,” and wanted to release it publicly at some point. He also shared that he had the help of his friend Craig Wiseman to write the song.
Fans will be able to hear the composition on the deluxe edition of Shelton’s most recent album Body Language. The release will feature four bonus tracks, including Shelton’s recent single “Come Back as a Country Boy.”
