Ariana Grande Waited to the Last Minute to Turn her Chair for a Performer Singing Her Song
Reading Time: 2 minutes
David Vogel took to The Voice stage with confidence, and rendition of Ariana Grande’s song “Breathin.'” He sang a slowed down, acoustic version of the pop singer’s hit. Half way through his song, none of the coaches turned, and I got a bit nervous.
Both acts that we’ve seen sing Grande’s music this season have really shocked everyone. David showed off his beautiful voice with the slowed down version of this song. He also showed off his guitar playing during the audition. Even though it’s extremely risky to sing a an Ariana Grande song on The Voice… in front of the pop star, David did it with ease.
Not going to lie, I was getting a bit nervous. None of the coaches turned their chairs halfway through this Grande performance. Grande eventually turned her chair for him, but it was totally at the last minute. Just like Grande blocking John Legend.
This singer revealed that he is normally a part of a band named JADN, but is singing solo for the show. Luckily, he kept his hopes high and didn’t disappoint. He is now apart of Team Ariana after singing one of her songs.
David Heads to Team Ariana After Performing Her Song
When the coaches began giving their feedback to the singer, Kelly Clarkson didn’t stay quiet about how she would’ve also turned at the last minute for David if it weren’t for Grande’s chair already being in motion. Not sure how much I believe that, but we appreciate the effort Clarkson.
But, this is the first time Grande has been able to secure someone to her team that has auditioned with one of her songs. I was quite surprised that Grande chose to turn for David last minute, knowing that no one else turned.
During this season’s premiere, we saw the pop artist turn her chair for Gymani along with the other coaches. Grande said that Gymani performed her song beautifully and said that she had been transported off of the earth. Since she was so shocked she didn’t really put up a fight for this singer. Gymani is now on Team Kelly, so I’m really curious what the difference between these two acts were in Grande’s mind.
