Simon Cowell has reportedly been banned from chewing gum on the set of Britain’s Got Talent. The music mogul had apparently been leaving his used gum under the judges’ desk during filming.
Simon Cowell Banned from Chewing Gum on BGT
The Sun reports that Simon Cowell has been banned from chewing gum on the set of BGT, after wads of it were found under the judges’ desk. This was apparently discovered after auditions for the current season were filmed.
“Simon is always chewing gum on set and has left producers with a real headache,” a source told the outlet of Cowell’s annoying habit. “They tried to implement the gum ban, but telling Simon ‘No’ is a task in itself.”
Recently, Cowell reportedly had a wad of gum stuck to his pants during filming, and he “didn’t have a clue.” In the past, fans have called the judge out on social media for chewing gum during the show’s auditions.
Cowell told The Sun it’s his “most annoying habit,” as he chews a £5 gum called CB12 that help with bad breath. As Cowell said, “I chew gum really loudly and it drives everyone mad.”
