Kelly Clarkson has finally been declared legally single. The Voice coach is in the middle of a divorce from her ex-husband and former manager Brandon Blackstock, and she’s cutting ties even further by selling the house they previously shared.
Kelly Clarkson Declared Legally Single
Us Weekly obtained court documents showing that a judge approved single status for the couple last month, with their “marital or domestic partnership status” ending January 7, 2022. Clarkson reportedly filed a motion in July to be declared single while divorce proceedings continued.
It’s been over a year since Clarkson filed for divorce from Blackstock in June 2020. The pair tied the knot in 2013 and share two children together — 7-year-old River Rose and 5-year-old Remington Alexander. The road to divorce hasn’t been the smoothest.
Earlier this year, Clarkson was ordered to pay Blackstock $150,000 per month in spousal support, in addition to over $45,000 per month in child support. Clarkson was granted temporary primary physical custody of their children in November of last year.

Clarkson Sells Home with Blackstock for $8 Million
Another big update in the ongoing saga of Clarkson’s divorce is that she finally sold her Los Angeles mansion, which she previously shared with Blackstock. The house was first put in the market in May 2020, and E! News reports that it recently sold for $8.24 million.
Clarkson paid $8.5 million for the property back in 2018. In June of this year, the singer reportedly bought a new Los Angeles residence for a reported $5.445 million. The 5,000-square-foot, Colonial-style house has five bedrooms.
As for who she’ll be sharing that house with in the future, Clarkson has said she doesn’t plan to remarry. She said on her show earlier this year that she’s been focused on dating herself, sharing, “You actually make time for you again. And I love dating me, so I’m actually not looking for it.”
