As far as ratings go, this is the best season ever of America’s Got Talent. They have been consistently killing it in the Nielsen’s this year. This makes producer Simon Cowell very happy and very rich. After all, without ratings you have no advertisers and without them you have no show.
Last night’s finale performance show dominated the ratings. They had 14.3 million viewers nationwide. That’s a 2.9 share, which is pretty darn good in the modern age of streaming and 600 cable channels. They also tested strongly with the beloved 18-49 demographic. Those fools spend a lot of money. Those are your prime spending money years. That’s why advertisers love to go after. It will be interesting to see if next season the four horsemen of the judging apocalypse can muster the magic to keep the ratings up.
Maybe if Simon invests in more deep v-neck t-shirts? He knows the ladies, (and some dudes), dig his manly hairy chest.
