With AGT: Extreme right around the corner, let’s test your knowledge on the host of the new series. Terry Crews has been the America’s Got Talent host since 2019 and now joins the Extreme spin-off, but what did he do before that?

Meet Terry Crews, AGT Longtime Host

Terry Crews is one of those actors that many people know the name of simply from one iconic film. Even though he’s known and loved for singing “A Thousand Miles” by Vanessa Carlton on White Chicks, there’s more to his history then meets the eye.

Before acting, Crews was an NFL player, he played for the Los Angeles Rams, San Diego Chargers and The Washington Football team (formerly known as the Redskins). He also played in the World League of American Football for Rhein Fire; and played for Western Michigan University in college. In 1997 Crews retired from football and began his acting career. He got his first acting role in 1999 in a game show called Battle Dome. This series as athletic based and featured a script similar to professional wrestling.


After that, the actor had been in a few miscellaneous things such as Old Spice commercials, music videos, etc. His breakout role was in a 2002 stoner comedy film named Friday After Next starring Ice Cube. Soon after, Crews got the role in White Chicks and became the household name he is today.
