Kelly Clarkson has been a fan of fellow The Voice coach Ariana Grande for years. Clarkson posted evidence of this on social media this week, showing her very first Twitter interaction with the pop star after discovering her music.

Clarkson also reminded fans that Grande will be featured on her upcoming Christmas album. She recently shared the album’s first track, “Christmas Isn’t Canceled (Just You).”

Kelly Clarkson Posts First Interaction with Ariana Grande

In September 2013, Clarkson tweeted a link to a video of Grande performing her song “The Way” on The Ellen DeGeneres Show. She wrote, “Okay, who the heck is this girl & where did she come from?! Someone just sent me this & wow she is killer & only 19!”

The next day, Grande herself responded to Clarkson’s tweet, writing, “omg that’s me hi kelly clarkson thank you ily.” Clarkson shared a screencap of this cute exchange, along with a recent photo with Grande on the set of The Voice.

“How it Started vs. How it’s Going,” Clarkson wrote to caption the images. “Y’all, I love this girl! Did I mention she’s gonna be on my upcoming Christmas album!?” According to the album’s tracklist, Grande will be featured with Clarkson on the song “Santa, Can’t You Hear Me.”

Grande responded to Clarkson’s latest post, calling her a “queen” and writing, “beyond honored to sing with you. i love this record and you.”

When Will Clarkson’s Christmas Album Be Released?

Clarkson recently released “Christmas Isn’t Canceled (Just You),” in which she sings about moving on from a relationship. The track comes in the midst of Clarkson’s messy divorce from husband Brandon Blackstock.
