Sharon Osbourne Says She is ‘Angry,’ ‘Hurt’ in Interview with Bill Maher

Sharon Osbourne appeared on Real Time with Bill Maher last week to discuss her shocking exit from The Talk. While sitting down with Maher, the TV personality admitted she still feels ‘angry’ and ‘upset’ about what went down.

Sharon Osbourne Says She’s Not Racist on ‘Real Time With Bill Maher’

In her first TV appearance since quitting The Talk, Sharon Osbourne appeared on Real Time with Bill Maher last week. Discussing her shock exit after an on-air row on the daytime show, Osbourne discussed the incident with Maher, admitting she still feels ‘angry’ and ‘upset.’

The episode that lead to Osbourne’s dismissal began with the panel discussing Piers Morgan’s leave from Good Morning Britain after a controversial set of episodes targeted at Meghan Markle.


Osbourne, who is a close friend with Morgan, defended his attack on Markle that has been called racist and sexist. Many question Morgan’s motivations for criticizing Markle as he has been very open about feeling rejected by the actress.

“I’ve been called so many things in my life, I am so used to being called names, but a racist is one I will not take,” Osbourne told Maher.

During the heated discussion on The Talk, Sheryl Underwood mentioned that defending Morgan’s racist comments makes people question Osbourne’s own views.


“It’s not fair, because it isn’t about being a racist,” she added. “It’s about maybe not knowing what is correct and woke for your language that day, cause it changes from day to day.”

“[Piers Morgan] was called a racist and lost his job, and you were called a racist and lost your job. Do I have it right?” Maher asked Sharon. The 68-year-old television personality confirmed.

Osbourne agreed that that is the case, although it’s not entirely true.

CBS Condemns Osbourne’s Behavior on ‘The Talk’

Following Sharon’s exit, CBS issued a statement regarding The Talk‘s heated debate, saying: “Sharon’s behavior toward her co-hosts during the March 10 episode did not align with our values for a respectful workplace.”

The episode that discussed allegations about Piers Morgan‘s alleged racism, had Sharon close to tears while confronting the panel of hosts. Morgan’s attacks at Meghan Markle while hosting popular breakfast show, Good Morning Britain erupted outrage after the former Duchess’ interview with Oprah.

During the scene that spanned a commercial break, Osbourne began shouting at her co-hosts.

“Don’t try and cry because if anyone should be crying, it should be me,” Osbourne said to Underwood at one point while also shouting that she didn’t understand the problem.

“Tell me, educate me,” she yells.

Maher, another of Osbourne’s close friends, clearly took her side as the two continued their interview my condemning “cancel culture.”
