Next week we’ll get to see the top 12 acts of America’s Got Talent: The Champions fight it out for the big win! But the show has released one performance we can watch right now!
Back in the season premiere, singer Susan Boyle became the very first act to become a finalist when Mel B used her golden buzzer to send her forward. For her finals performance, Susan sang “I Dreamed a Dream” from Les Miserables, which proved to be a crowd favorite for more reasons than one!
Susan received a standing ovation and high praise from all four judges. The song choice was an especially great fit for Champions because it was the one that made her arguably the most iconic act in Got Talent history. Nearly ten years ago, when Susan auditioned for Britain’s Got Talent Series 3, the judges didn’t think much of her until she sang the first notes of “I Dreamed a Dream”. They were shocked at her level of talent and the clip went viral on the internet, becoming one of the most famous examples of the lesson “don’t judge a book by its cover”.
In the near-decade between placing second on BGT and competing on Champions, Susan has released several albums, and she just announced she’s has a new one on the way! Called Ten, it will be produced by none other than Simon Cowell, and is currently available for pre-order online.
You can see Susan and the rest of the finalists compete for the ultimate title of “champion of champions” when the next episode of America’s Got Talent: The Champions airs Monday at 8/7 c on NBC.
