‘The X Factor UK’ Will Hold Auditions In Arenas
Reading Time: 1 minutes
It’s no secret that The X Factor UK has been doing not so great in the ratings for the last few years. In fact, we’ve looked at the trends and there is a definite downward slope. So, producer Simon Cowell is trying to find any way he can to try and get people to tune in, like firing Nicole Scherzinger. Now he’s changing the way the auditions episodes are held. Now they will be in arenas.
You’ll recall that The X Factor holds auditions similarly to American Idol where it’s just an empty room with the artist and the judges. It’s intimate but doesn’t really test the artists to see how they perform after a big crowd. We’ve seen a lot of talented singers who do great in front of the judges crash and burn when they get before a large crowd. So, now they’ll start out at arenas and see if they can hack it.
This is the way the Got Talents do it and it seems to help some performers, (they get boosted by the crowd), and others not so much. It will be interesting to see what other tricks Simon has up the sleeves of his deep v-neck t-shirts.
