It’s been quite the change for ‘X Factor‘ this year and there are mixed emotions about it all. Some are claiming that Simon has saved the show, others can’t take the damn thing seriously! Here’s what’s gone well and what hasn’t gone so well in the new spin-off show so far.
The two X Factor spin-off shows are much shorter
It’s truly a breath of fresh air to have a shortened version of the show this year. In earlier season’s X Factor has lasted months on air and has left fans feeling pretty exhausted after it all! Both spin-off shows will air in the same time period as the normal show would have normally aired. Meaning we’ll be seeing the show air until the countdown to Christmas begins.
There’s a brand new live show set!
This is exciting and could possibly be the best set for the live shows yet. Gone is the artificial looking studio setup and large audience. Now in it’s place, a beautifully designed jazz club styled setting with an intimate audience taking seats at tables. Now we’re talking!
The majority of the singing has… room for improvement
Now this is definitely the most common reason why people just cannot bear to tune in to the show any longer.
The vocal talent of some of the acts just isn’t up to scratch. This leaves us wondering why we didn’t get a normal version of the show this year or roll on November for ‘All Stars’! The public will be quick to eliminate those that have slim chances of winning pretty quickly. So the finale of actual talent should be something to be optimistic about.
The show’s ratings are low
Last night saw viewing ratings of just 3.5 million, which is the lowest in ‘X Factor’ live show history. So statistically this new spin off show isn’t doing well at all. Simon did expect the show to either be a massive success or a failure so we’re not going to be too harsh on him for trying something new. It is clear though that loyal ‘X Factor’ fans just aren’t tuning in this year.
What do you think… Was this new spin off show a good idea? Let us know.
