Why Isn’t ‘America’s Got Talent’ on This Week?
Reading Time: 2 minutes
America’s Got Talent fans will have to wait another week before seeing the next round of Season 19 auditions. The show won’t be on this week, and the reason has to do with the upcoming Summer Olympics.
Why America’s Got Talent Isn’t on This Week
AGT Season 19 premiered at the end of May, and the show has been airing auditions every Tuesday night on NBC. However, the show is taking this week off to make room in the schedule for the U.S. Olympic Team Trials.
On Friday, AGT shared a photo of judges Heidi Klum and Howie Mandel sporting Team USA gear. In the caption, the show explained that new episodes would resume on June 25. During the Team Trials, athletes will compete to earn a spot in the Olympics.
The 2024 Summer Olympic will take place in Paris, France, from Friday, July 26, to Sunday, August 11. During that time, fans will once again have to go without a new episode of the show. However, NBC has confirmed that the live shows will kick off on August 13.

There Will Be Eight Weeks of Auditions
According to NBC, Season 19 of America’s Got Talent will have eight weeks of audition shows. So far, we’ve seen three weeks of auditions, with the fourth set to air on June 25. That means there are plenty more acts to witness this season.
Season 19 also features a pretty big rule change, as the judges can now hit the Golden Buzzer twice each, sending acts straight to the live shows. According to NBC, 55 acts will make it through to the live shows after the audition round.
The live shows will be spread across five episodes, with 11 acts performing each week. Two acts will move on to the finale during each week’s Wednesday night results show. Eleven acts will compete in the Finals for a chance to earn the $1 million grand prize.
